ARTBA's website includes updates on federal legislation and regulations, news on their advocacy efforts on behalf of the transportation building industry, and the online Buyer's Guide and Transportation Construction Safety Products Guide

This site provides online access to AASHTO's Weekly Transportation Report, and to the weekly AASHTO Regulatory Monitor. It describes AASHTO's numerous programs and services, and meetings and events, and includes a bookstore for transportation publications.

Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS)
Located within USDOT, BTS gathers and analyzes transportation statistics. Its website provides searchable databases, state and local transportation information, and transportation studies and reports such as the American Travel Survey and National Transportation Statistics.

Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)
For information about employment discrimination and how to prevent it, visit the EEOC web site. It includes links to the EEOC Technical Assistance Program, small business information page, and facts about enforcement and litigation.

U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)
The DOL website has abundant information about legislation and regulations, statistics, and programs and services. The Elaws service (Employment Laws Assistance for Workers and Small Businesses) is a series of individual Advisors designed to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as an employee or employer. Click on the "DOL Agencies" button to get to links for OSHA and MSHA.

U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)
DOT's website provides extensive information about national transportation policy, and the activities of the Department's administrations, such as the Federal Highway Administration. It includes information about legislation and regulations, safety issues, new technologies, and a Life-Long Learning Center dedicated to ongoing adult transportation education.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
This site provides information about federal environmental protection activities. Sections include regulations and federal register notices, publications, projects and programs, office locations and contacts, and databases such as the Environmental Data Registry and Envirofacts.

U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO)
GPO is the supplier of Federal Government information products, such as reports, publications, and the Federal Register. Through a service called GPO Access, GPO provides free electronic access to a wealth of important information products produced by various federal agencies.

Statewide Badger/State of Wisconsin Information Server
For easy one-stop access to Wisconsin's state government sites, visit Badger. It provides links to state agencies, the legislature, local government sites, and much more. It also has links to important Federal government pages.

Department of Workforce Development (DWD)
This site gives you information about the Department's labor law administrative activities. Click on the "Information and Services for Employers" link to get information about unemployment insurance, worker's comp, recruiting assistance, taxes, health and safety, and business development. It includes a link to the Wisconsin Business Resource Network and to Department publications.

Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP)
HTCP provides the training and certification required by DOT Quality Management Program (QMP) specifications.

Wisconsin Department of Commerce (DOC)
This site lists a wide variety of programs for business assistance, safety, and employment issues. It includes information on environmental regulations and permits, and tells you how to get publications.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR)
DNR's website tells you about the Department's publications and education resources, such as state statutes, administrative code and DNR geographic data. It includes permit information, news updates, and a list of offices and their locations.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT)
This site provides information on the Department's programs and services, road conditions around the state, and news updates. Click on the "Doing Business" link to get to highway bidding information

List of Parties Excluded from Federal Procurement and Non Procurement Programs
Provides information on contractors that have been debarred or suspended by federal agencies. It also lists the penalties due the debarments or suspensions.

Government The Wisconsin Legislature
This site provides links to home pages and e-mail addresses for state senators and Assembly members. It lists committees, has an online version of the Wisconsin Blue Book, and provides links to support agencies such as the Legislative Fiscal Bureau and the Legislative Reference Bureau. You can use this site to search state statutes, bills, or amendments.

The U.S. Congress
You can use the Thomas legislative information system to search federal legislation, bills, and amendments. It includes the Congressional Record, committee information, and links to House and Senate directories.



American Underground Construction Association
The American Underground Construction Association site offers news, a calendar of events and more. A unique section to this site is the `Project of the Month' area.

Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association
Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association (WAPA) is a Wisconsin Non Profit association representing the interests of the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) industry in Wisconsin. WAPA has 20 hot mix asphalt producer members and more than 80 associate members.

Asphalt Contractor
Visitors can access articles from Asphalt Contractor Magazine, search national product and vendor guides and join in online discussion groups on topics related to the industry.

Asphalt Institute
This U.S.-based association represents international petroleum asphalt producers, manufacturers and affiliated businesses. Mission is "to promote the use, benefits and quality performance of petroleum asphalt, through engineering, research, and educational activities, and through the resolution of issues affecting the industry." Membership has its privileges here, but the site does provide some free content including hot topics, worldwide meeting calendars and environmental impact reports.

National Asphalt Pavement Association
While the NAPA web site doesn't offer the depth of resources one might expect from a national association, visitors to hotmix.com will encounter current association calendars, press releases and an online library of videotapes and printed publications, which can be ordered online with Mastercard/Visa. Members receive deep discounts.

National Center for Asphalt Technology
NCAT's site is academic and geared toward educating the paving industry on the organization's hot-mix asphalt performance research. Visitors can download Adobe Acrobat versions of recent quarterly newsletters and complete publications on a variety of hot-mix topics. The site also offers distance learning opportunities through self-study videotapes and an extensive curriculum of workshops held at its Auburn, Alabama facility.

North Central Superpave Center
Established in 1995, the NCSC is one of five regional centers across the nation dedicated to providing the paving industry with the latest Superpave information and techniques. The organization's web site, administered by the Joint Transportation Research Program at Purdue University, provides access to quarterly newsletters, research results, searchable newsgroups and technical articles and papers.

Sponsored by Transtec, Inc., an international engineering consulting firm, PaveNet bills itself as "the leading center for pavement engineering news and information." Users find an online bookstore drawn from Amazon.com's asphalt books library, calendars of international industry conferences and a small job board.

USA Pavement
The site is a member of the USA Contractor site family, and is under development. Current content includes: live chatrooms, discussion boards, a limited selection of articles on paving techniques, a searchable nationwide directory of paving contractors, a small product index and an "Ask-the-Pro" area.

Wisconsin DNR Asphalt Specialist
This site is part of the Department of Natural Resources' Cooperative Environmental Assistance Program, which was established in 1996 to foster working relationships with key industries on pollution-control and environmental issues. Content is extremely limited.

Wisconsin Highway Research Program
The Wisconsin Highway Research Program (WHRP) is a joint effort between the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the University of Wisconsin. The program web site offers a comprehensive overview of the program, industry links and contact information.

National Concrete Pavement Technology Center
The mission of the CP Tech Center is to unite key transportation stakeholders around the central goal of advancing concrete pavement technology through research, technology transfer, and accelerated implementation of promising technologies.

American Concrete Institute
Claiming nearly 18,000 members, ACI is dedicated to improving the design, construction, manufacture and maintenance of concrete structures. The non profit's Web site features an extensive library of technical publications; a comprehensive index of concrete related organizations; a searchable database of articles and abstracts, dating back to 1998 and a full calendar of nationwide seminars. Membership packages vary and entitle members to discounts on a range of ACI events and materials.

Associations Association for Bridge Construction and Design
The ABCD's Pittsburg Chapter maintains this little corner of the construction-Net. The centerpiece of the site is the ABCD Exchange, a fairly open discussion group that welcomes all interested in bridge construction and design.

Institute of Transportation Engineers
The Institute of Transportation Engineers is an international organization of transportation professionals that dedicates itself to providing its members and the public with information on "safe and efficient surface transportation through planning, designing, implementing, operating and maintaining surface transportation systems worldwide." Its Web site offers an array of materials from educational resources and publications to technical documents and transportation analysis papers. 

National Stone Sand & Gravel Association
The National Stone & Gravel Association is a trade association representing the interests of sand, gravel and crushed stone producers internationally. Its Web site offers information on government issues affecting the industry, calendar of events and seminars.

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials
The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials is committed to leading the industry in developing safer and better ideas in transportation. The site provides a journal of association activities, a bookstore and their quarterly newsletter.

American Society of Transportation Engineers
The ASTE "promotes the quality planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of safe and efficient highways." Its Web site provides a basic range of content including the Scanner Newsletter, which features articles of interest on highway construction and trends affecting the industry.

American Underground-Construction Association
The AUCA's Web site explores the development and use of underground facilities worldwide. Visitors will find an extensive membership directory, national and international industry news, an events calendar and a section titled Project of the Month, which showcases innovative underground projects. Past projects are archived for later viewing.

Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America
Contractors will find the AGC's Web site's Core content areas include: Constructor Magazine information on legislative activities, education and training, safety issues and labor and human resources. Members have access to a wider range of materials such as Davis Beacon Bulletins, Environmental Bulletins and special publications like Human Resources & Labor News, Construction Business Computing and Market Division News & Bulletins.

Bureau of Transportation Statistics
The focus of the BTS, an operating administration of the Department of Transportation, is to show statistics related to the nation's transportation systems and their effects on the public. Within the site are statistics on all types of transportation methods, including air, ground, water and space and so on.
